  3. *learn from others

Come join us at our monthly meeting Monday NOVEMBER 9 at 6:30 PM at the Houston Garden Center, 1500 Hermann Dr. in Hermann Park, Houston.  A panel of experts will talk about Ecological Gardening: The Urban Harvest approach.  Jean Fefer, Ph.D., Master Gardener and Past Vice President of Urban Harvest and Bob Randall, Ph.D., founder and former Executive Director of Urban Harvest will explain what the Urban Harvest approach is, how to grow your veggies organically with no pesticides, how to maintain a no-tilling garden and why you should, and why any of this matters.

Urban Harvest originated many of the organic gardening practices that have gradually become standard practices everywhere.  Mr. Irv Robbins will have a table with Information on how to join Urban Harvest and upcoming classes.

Dr. Bob Randall will have his book “Year Round Vegetables, Fruits and Flowers For Metro Houston” for sale.  This is a must-have reference book for anyone wishing to grow food in the Houston area; it even includes cooking ideas for veggies you might not be familiar with!
