Cuttings & Propagation

Mickey Kleinhenz taught us about propagating from cuttings to scavenge, multiply & share plants with our friends & neighbors.  I hope everyone is enjoying their native Turks Cap. Mine are leafing out a bit, so, success!

A few key takeaways: some things root from the cut end, some root from a node. Have a little of both and push most of the cutting well below moist soil. And news to me, the roots that form in water are not the same as roots that form in soil. But if you do root in water then plant, it will start producing the roots needed to grow in soil.
